I was in hospital at the weekend having an operation on my foot. The pain is indescribable but at least it helped me to write a haiku inspired by this week’s Haiku Heights’ prompt word “Grimace”.
Humour held hostage
In agony arrested
Face frozen in pain
~~~
Features contorted
Awakened in agony
Pain surges through me
